What it is

TB-500 is a lab-made copy of a short section of thymosin beta-4, a protein found in nearly every tissue in the body. That protein helps cells move to where they are needed during repair.

TB-500 copies a seven-amino-acid stretch of thymosin beta-4. That protein turns up in nearly every tissue, and levels are highest in blood platelets and in wound fluid.

Interest grew because that protein shows up early wherever the body is repairing itself. The full protein has been tested in human trials for wounds and eye conditions; TB-500 is the short fragment, and it has not.

Clinics usually group it with BPC-157. The two get discussed together so often that people assume they are related, but they come from different proteins.
